Princess for a Day

Good morning, hope your well! Just back from a lovely little holiday - spent some time with some amazing friends - but glad to be home :)

So I'm here to share with you a card I made a little while ago - I just LOVE this image from PND and I had to think of something pretty to make - So please let me introduce to you

Isn't she just the sweetest - the dress, the crown, everything about her is gorgeous!!! I used some of the beautiful Prima 'Fairy Belle' papers, once again they are out in full flow at the moment!
They are so versatile! The image was coloured with copics;

E000, E00, E02, R20
R20, R22, R24
E33, E35, E37

The flowers and pin are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the 'Princess for a Day' was cut on my cameo!  Oh how did I live before I had that!! Here is a little close up of the sentiment - I had to darken it so you could see it clearly!

Im over the moon with how she turned out! I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Left of Centre - Girly
Patties Creations - Anything Goes
Simply Create Too - For A Child

Well I hope you like my creation! I would love to know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by

Copic Skin Tutorial for The Stamping Chef

Good Morning, hope your all well :)

Im here today with my first tutorial for The Stamping Chef - I wanted to do something but was a bit unsure as to what to do and so I'm going to share with you two things today -

Firstly how I colour skin tones (I have done a few online lessons but nothing serious!) and Secondly a colour tone for skin that has to be one of my favourite :)

For this tone I have used Copics;

E50, E51, E53 and E93

And the gorgeous 'I'm a Raver' from The Stamping Chef - Now as I wanted to concentrate on skin I have masked the image on my computer to just give me her head - It also meant I could make the images slightly bigger to show you :)

So lets begin…..

I start by laying down E50 over the entire area of the skin

Taking E51 I then come in from the outside ages - being sure not to cover the complete face, just leaving enough for a highlight….

You can see that I have taken the E51 over the eyelids and over most of one side of her face - this is where I think the shadow would be.
*TIP* remember you can always add more colour later but you can't take it away so start by covering a smaller area than you want the shadow in the first place*

Taking E53 I then draw this in from the outside edge too - but once again no quite as much

You can see I have also drawn a 'flick' up to look like her nose - at this point I'm sure your thinking…. Oh no that will never blend!! Well….

Taking back your E51 go back over the area as before making sure you cover all the area where you put E53

Its at this point you will see if you want the shadow to be more, remember don't add too much at once and these pens can deceive you - if your worried allow the ink a bit of time to dry - it helps!

Going back to your E50 colorer the entire skin area as before,

You may want to cover it with E50 and leave it a few moments to see what it looks like - you can add more in but be sure not to over saturate the paper :)

Taking E93 I colour her lips

Any hey presto - there she is!! All coloured up! Well I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today and I hope to be back soon with more :)

Thanks for stopping by

Good Morning!

I hope your here for the Roller Derby today :) This is has been so much fun!
Two amazing artists coming together head to head….

The Vulture Knockouts vs. The Skullhead Babes

Now how cool is it these two fantastic companies coming together!!  I was so excited when 'The head chef' Tamara told us of what was coming up! 2 of my favourite artists coming together like this!!

Now The Stamping Chef and Simply Betty stamps have joined forces to bring you a fantastic mini challenge - Both Tamara and Betty have designed a Roller Derby Chick for YOU to use for this challenge - NOW both images are free but you only have 24 hours to request so get in the quick!!!!

So allow me to present to you….

Kitty Paw
From

First up - isn't she cool! I know I just LOVE her - not my normal style of 'go to' especially with her being so bright and bold but she was so much fun to colour up!
Now TSC side of this derby is a recipe challenge -

1 Ribbon
2 Buttons
3 Papers (Inc BG)

The ribbon I have used is from my stash as well as the buttons - I was shocked to find two matching buttons in my stash! The papers are from 'MME Pretty Please' paper pad that came with one of my magazines ages ago - quite a sweet pack really!! I matted and layered each section with some kraft card I had stashed away, the 'You Rock' was cut on my cameo.  The image was coloured with copics;

E000, YR20, R20, R46 B60
R21, R02
YG03, YG05, YG07
RV21, RV25, RV29
T3, T5, T7
W0, W2
B60

I also added a dot of 'liquid pearls' to her piercing on her chin to make it stand out more!  Well I hope I may have inspired you with one side! You can request this image by sending an email to Tamara here with the subject heading of Derby

BUT WAIT!! Don't go yet….

Yes I have more to share with you!! The team at TSC were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Betty's image as well… Yes so now please allow me to introduce to you….

From

Now for Bettys challenge we had a colour combo to work with - you may recognise it a bit as I did try to include it in my TSC creation

Now I have to say these colours are so not what I would normally work with - BUT it has been so much fun to try and be out of my depth!  The image was coloured with copics

E000, E00, E02, R22
T3, T5, T7
YG03, YG05, YG07
Rv23, RV25, RV29

The papers are from my scraps and the embellishments are from my stash! This is has been so much fun playing along with these two amazing companies!
Now you can request this image by sending an e-mail to Betty here with the subject heading as Derby!

Now remember you only have 24 hours to claim your image so get them quick! The challenges will run from Today (August 21st) through to August 28th 11:59pm - Each artist is offering a $10 gift certificate and the winners will be announced on Frida August 30th 2013.

Hope to see you again soon

WOYWW

Evening! well as promised I'm here this week to join in with my first WOYWW post :)

Its going to be very short and sweet and you will see why……

There are a number of reasons I need to keep it short - and if I'm honest - I have no idea what I'm meant to be doing….. *Note to self - must make sure you know what your doing before you start!!!*

(1) My dinner will be here any moment now (yes I'm hungry!)

(2) My desk looks like a bomb has hit it, you can hardly see any work space… and yes its kinda a pet hate!! I nearly photoed the floor too -  although you can't see the actual carpet for boxes and flowers and the bits of double sided tape you pull off - obviously ended with a messy session last night!

(3) I have new stash…. not much just needed a break today to went to a craft shop and looked before i brought!! - I treated myself to two MME paper pads that were reduced to less than £4 each, some more silicone and a pack from craftwork cards its all pretty and butterflies!!!

(4) I have some new digs to work with, there in the middle…. yes I purchased some (more) SC's and I have LOADS of DT work to catch up with! so I'm going to link up to WOYWW and will hopefully stop by at some of your fab areas later :)

Just A Note

Good Morning, well I hope your all well :)  I have to say I just wish this weather would make up its mind at the moment!! As you may have noticed creativity is still flowing rather nicely!  I have to say it feel so magical sometimes when you look at what you have made!

So while linking a creation to some challenges the other day I came across this company called 'Pretty Little Stamps' I just fell in love when I saw them and so had to treat a few of them to a place in my folders :)

As soon as I got them downloaded they were printed and ready to be coloured…
first up I just had to use Pretty Love

Isn't she just the sweetest…. she looks like a proper little girl and I would cuddle her if she was real!!! I coloured her up witch copics;

E50, E51, E53, E93, E95
E31, E33, E35
B93, B95
G20, G21
C0, C1

the papers are from MME Vintage Fair - they worked so well with the image - I distressed the edges slightly with Tim Holtz Tea Dye.  The small heart doily was cut on my cameo and distressed with inks, the ribbon from my stash and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts!

I just have to give you a close up of her :)

Well I hope you like her! I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Adele

Evening all, I know some what of a late in the day post for me, BUT I have been thinking loads about this.... and I mean loads!

As some of you know a couple of weeks ago I had the oppertunity to join the MIC hop for the new release of the Alice in Wonderland images, it really made me realise how much I miss using my MIC images that I have - I think I got myslef to a point where I didnt think I was capable of them, and so I have been on a bit of a roll with them this week.

Then the wonderful Zoe announced that she was thinking about starting something new... she told us to keep our eyes peeled as something about to come up - so a number of us sat patiently waiting (well I tapped my fingers *Lots*), it was announced that there was a DT call
And so I looked at the details and I thought yes, no, yes, no, yes.... and so on.

And so while thinking the whole yes v's no - I coloured up the beautiful Adele and shared her on the MIC Facebook group - she has been an image that I fell in love with when I first saw her and i just had to buy her - but I have been somewhat afraid of colouring her since I got her.

The comments I had from so many people in there was amazing it really boosted my confidence and the way I see my own work! And so tonight I have sat here and made Adele into a finished card

Due to the size that I printed the image its a very odd sized card! Its a 7x7 - she was too big for a 6x6 and I didnt think I could handle and 8x8 and so I cut the card to size!
The image was coloured with copics;

E50, E51, E53, E93
E31, E33, E35

The papers are from my all time favouriate Prima 'Fairy Belle'.  The edges have all been distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink Tea Dye, the rest of the embelishments are all from my stash - the rose originally had a loop on it to be hung but I have learnt that 99% of the time you can cut them off!

Well I do hope you like her - I would like to enter her into the DT call at Make It Crafty.
Thank you for stopping by and I do hope if you have a moment you will let me know what you think!

Hugs

Alice in Pink

Good Morning - again! Yep I think I'm on a roll…. in every way - creativity has been 'flowing' rather well - although sleep hasn't been - not been getting to bed till 2am!  This is the only problem with creativity when it hits me - its at inhuman hours!

Anyway I'm here to share with you a creation that I have fallen head over heals for,  Some of you may have seen the MIC hop last week for the new release images, I was fortunate enough to be a part of it too!!  But life got in the way and I wasn't able to make the 2 projects I hoped for - and so I'm here to share with you the other image I was meant to work with!

Allow me to introduce to you

Isn't she just adorable!  Its the expression on her face that I fell in love with.  Now I didn't want to colour her in traditional alice colours and so I went with pinks!  The image was coloured with copics

E000, E00, E02
E30, E31, E33
R20, R22
C0, C1, C2, C4

The papers are from The house of Zandra purchased from That Craft Place - I just love the papers they have a lovely feel to them and they look so pretty!! The flowers have been in my stash for ages, I can't even think where they are from! Now I have to show her to you a bit closer :)

I just LOVE her, she is so easy to colour!  Pop over and take a look at the other images from the release - you will not be disappointed :) I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Make It Crafty - Smooth Gradients
Card and Scrap - Anything Goes
Just for Fun - Anything Goes
The Crafters Cafe - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by, I do hope if you have a moment you will let me know what you think! Hope to see you again soon :)

Welcome to my Craft Room!

**Picture Heavy Post**

OK so this post has been a LONG time coming…. the craft room officially 'opened' back in Janurary, the 14th to be precise - I only know that as it was my mums Birthday!! I have ALWAYS wanted to join in with the WOYWW posts and share my room - but since having my own little paradise I have always distracted myself - too much to do - and so today…. well today I'm going to do my best to share with you my little world!

So yes I have the most AMAZING sized desk in the world!  Its an office desk and was a steal off e-bay at £20 (and the nice man put it together for me!)  I have to say looking back at this the room looks HUGE and empty! - but crafting isn't about emptiness!!!

As the day went on (January 14th) more and more and more went in…. yes it seemed never ending - I mean Im sure I don't have this much stash - yes and there was more…. and more!

A certain little cat ensured her presence on the happenings!  even if it did mean knocking stuff off my window ledge! - Yes you may know how much I LOVE Orchids too - I have 3 in the room now!!

And so on 'opening day' who better to take the seat than Miss N - Yes she decided to try to 'help' - I think it was more try to see what stash mummy has that I can play with - but she is just so adorable when in the mood!!

Now you can't have a craft room without lots of storage - now I'm kind of limited in my room and so after a trip to B&Q I have some 'custom size' shelves on the wall - they are about 1m wide.  The top shelves are deeper than the bottom ones and I now have another shelf on the bottom! Well done to Mr B for putting them up without too many cracks in the plaster!

Then the shelves got filled…. and once again more 'neglected' stash was found!

The shelves look pretty tidy there - they are nothing like that now! its move 10 things to get to what you want!  Anyway I needed more storage - and so a trip to Ikea was in order, and I purchased some of the *kitchen bars* that I have seen many people talk about!  BUT it meant that I had to clear the desk for Mr B to put them up! ohhh and get him a drink while he was working :)

And so here is my desk in a *clean* state - yes that clean and tidy…..

well in comparison to now!!!

So I suppose I hope today marks a point at when I will start to join in with WOYWW - Here is my desk today…. yes and that mess was creating one card…. I think I may have issues or maybe obsessions!! I have found that I have become used to my space in there - I shut myself off from everything other then creativity!!

And yes since January I think everything has been moved at least once!! I now have some hooks from Ikea that I hang my dies on - I can never see the floor for more than five seconds when I'm in there on my own! Its my own little paradise and I LOVE it! So as of next week I *hope* to do my first WOYWW post as this week I have just jabbered loads!

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon

:)

Scarlett Hunger

Evening all, yes I know a very odd time for me to be posing - but its been one of those days thats all been a bit strange - Miss N had her 'pre-school' boosters today - she didn't cry till we were home but she did make sure she told the nurse 'you hurt me' and keeps telling people she now has 'holes in her arms'.  Oh an she also has a 'pet snail' called 'Lulu' - she so should have been a boy!!!

Anyway in-between all of todays happenings I decided to be a bit daring for the new challenge over at The Stamping Chef Facebook page!!  This week Tamara has created yet another beautiful image who is available in the store here! (If your a member of the TSC FB Page you can request her free for a few more hours!!)

And so with continuing with the strangeness of the day I got the pencils out!!  Now they haven't seen the light of day for….. well I dread to think (yes I had to dust the case!)!  But after a conversation with a 'new friend' I thought maybe I needed to challenge my-self :) So one decided to 'brave' skin tones with the 'limited' pencils - My initial attempt at colouring her skin went rather wrong… now I don't tend to share my 'glitches' but for a giggle I feel I must!! and so this is what happens when I challenge myself with limited pencils!!

YES I colour what should be 'normal' people with a 'snake like' skin tone…. So I have concluded that I will leave the pencil skin tones for the professionals!!!

Anyway after a bit of thinking I thought it would be a good idea to still use her clothing (As I was rather impressed with the effect I got on her clothes!) and so out came the scissors!! YES this is where I noticed 'Little Boo' is SO helpful in my life these days…. so chomp chomp snip later…..  please allow me to introduce you to

Now I just LOVE her - for me she is a cross between 'steampunk' meets 'good girl' (no longer snake girl!) - she has the clothing of a steampunk and the face of a sweetie!  As you know her clothing was all coloured with my pencils and the added 'blending oil' her skin was coloured with copics;

E000, E00, E02,
R37

The papers are from my stash, none of them had any details on the bottom, the lace is also from my stash.  The flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little watch charm from That Craft Place. All in all I'm rather happy with how she turned out! I would like to enter her into the following challenges;

Scrap Creations - Anything Goes
Inky Chicks - Lovely Lace
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
LEJ Designs - Lovely Lace

Well I hope if you have a moment you will let me know what you think! I have to say I LOVE her! Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon :)
