Halloween Colours

Good Morning! Well busy busy here trying to fit 101 things in with very little time - next week I hope will be a better week - well it will be in some ways - Miss N will be off to Nursery three days and I will have a LOT more time for me…. BUT we will be having work done on the house - we will hopefully be getting the re-wire finished! I know - I will have plug sockets in the craft room!!!

Anyway I'm here to share with you my creations for the Simply B Stamps Fan Group challenge! Betty has been kind enough to let us have a wonderful image once again!! And the theme is her favourite!

Please let me introduce to you

I stuck with rather basic colours for the 'halloween' side of it the papers I have used are from Stampin Up - sometimes I don't think you can play too safe :)

The image was coloured with copics;

E50, E51, E53,
YR15, YR16, YR18
T3, T5
N7, N9
E31, E33, E35

Well I hope you like her - I would like to enter her into the challenge for the Simply B Facebook Fan Page Challenge - if you have a moment I would love to know what you think!
Hope to see you again soon

Have a 'Grave' Fathers Day

Afternoon all - what a day it has been, my little Amelia (well she's not so little any more) took her pre primary ballet exam today :)  So proud of her - I can't believe she has been dancing for three years nearly! So yes today I'm on a complete high!

Im here to share with you a Fathers Day card with a difference - I was asked to make a 'zombie' themed   Fathers Day card - mmmmm yes the brain started ticking….. after a little bit of discussion I finally came up with the perfect image!

This is the rather creepy Zombie Painter 3 from Rick St Dennis - I will be honest and say I never thought of using a zombie on Fathers Day but he is pretty cool - after choosing the image and colouring him up with copics the sentiment and papers all fell into place

Copics

E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
YG03, YG09, YG17, YG63, YG67
B32, B34, R35, R37
T3, T5, T7

The papers are from my stash, I know they are from one of the halloween pads I had but I can't remember what set! The die cut is from memory box called 'Graveyard landscape', the words were cut from my cameo :) - I also distressed the edges of the paper using Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink pad.

Well I hope you like him, I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Alphabet Challenge - i is for image
Digi Haven - Anything goes
Digi Galore - Male/Fathers Day
Just Inspirational Challenges - Photo Inspiration (taken the daddy for Fathers Day)

Thanks for stopping by - I would love your opinions on this one :) hope to see you again soon :)

Trick or Treat??? lots of Pictures

Afternoon all , well I'm still recovering from yesterday - we had an amazing day - I have to say it was the the best Halloween yet! Kids loved it and although they had quite a bit of sugar they were shattered - and so was I!

Just a few photos of the day to share with you;

Ohhh I was so impressed with my table - all that I had made over the last month was on it as well as a beautiful card from Anda and I won the lovely little 'BOO' from the amazing Trudie as well as the card on the other side - at least I could pretend you were here!!!

Amelia SO loved taking the insides out of the pumpkin!! Her face was a picture all the way through - Nancy how ever was not so keen!!! and she did a pretty good job of it too!!! although the design she chose took me over an hour to carve!

…. My baby did apple bobbing - we were shocked - she does not like water in her face!! and she got it out - the problem was she kept putting it in and taking it out - she's only 2 1/2 so very impressed with her!

And my all time best ever Pumpkin - I know I complained a moment ago about how long it took BUT - I had people as where I brought it from - not sure if to be complimented to offended!!!

So all in all it was a good day had by all!!!

Anyway back to the purpose!!  This is a bit of a sad post as its the last one for the 13 Days of halloween Challenges over at Simply Challenged Challenges :(  I can't believe that I have managed to participate in all 13! At times its only been because of some special people pushing me - you know who you are!  I have struggled at times but I have SO enjoyed myself - First a BIG thank you to all the DT for their inspiration for each and every challenge and the lovely comments they have left!

Ok so I suppose rather than waffling I should just get on with it! OK so the challenge for day 13 is

Show us your favourite Trick (technique) or give the team a Treat

Well I think what I'm about to share is a bit of both - firstly the cupcakes - they were not cooked by me - I can't and don't cook cakes cause well they always turn out rubbish so a BIG thank you to my friend for cooking them (they were rather scrum my that had chocolate orange chocolate on the top!) but I did decorate them with some lovely decorated sticks

I have been wanting to do these for so long, its thanks to my little die cutting diva Nancy that they were all cut - they didn't take long to make at all and the kids loved them and even took them home after the party!!! Here are the details on how I made them

(1) Print your chosen mage at 5-6 cm high (I wanted mine quite small)
(2) I used a circle punch to punch the areas of the image I wanted to use
(3) Using my Nesties pinking circles I die cut the black circles slightly larger than the punch
(4) Colour as required
(5) take the point off of a cocktail stick - add double sided tale to the back of the image
(6) Attach cocktail stick at required hight to the back of the image
(7) stick to backing circle and there you have it!

I did on a couple of occasions add more tape over the cocktail stick for added security!!!

So next up I have to share with you have I made for the witches, devils and monsters knocking at my door….  what a yummy looking box of chocolates one may think

And oh yes the kids thought they were in for a right treat…. let them get close, maybe even touch a chocolate

and out jumps the beautiful Banshee Lola!!!
I don't think some parents were too impressed with me last night…. I did have one or two walk away with a shocked look - maybe I really am a mad woman!!!

Now I will give you a quick tutorial on how to make this

You will need;

Empty chocolate tin (plastic is best)
Wooden spoon
Your Chosen Image Coloured or as you wish
Scissors
Sweets - lots of them!

(1) Take your chosen tin and roughly in the centre make a hole - I did this using my scissors - Make sure the hole you make is big enough for the handle of the spoon to fit through

(2) Stick your chosen image to the wooden spoon - I use the back of the spoon as I felt it gave the image more shape - make sure you use strong tape or even glue the image to the spoon - you don't want it falling off half way through!!!

(3) Turning the tin up the right way, slot the handle of the spoon through the hole - the handle of the spoon is great to carry it by as well!!!

(4) Now fill the tub back up with sweets to hide your image and wait for them to come calling!!!

well I hope you like and understand my little tutorial! I know the kids loved this so much! I just wish Halloween was more than once a year! Now I would like to enter this card into the following challenge

Simply Challenged Challenges - 13 Days of Halloween - Day 13 - Trick or treat

Toffee Apples

Yuck - I can't think of anything worse - toffee and apples - NO in my house they do not go together - I never forget as a kid being at a party and them coming out - I was told I would like them - took one bite and ewww I still shiver at the thought!!!

Anyway I can't believe we are at day 11of the 13 days of Halloween over at Simply Challenged Challenges - I have to say I really don't want this to end!!

Simply Challenged Challenges

So the theme on this occasion is 'sweets' we either have to use the colours of candy corn (yellow, orange and white) or Caramel Apples (Lime Green and Caramel) - well tonight I have sat there and coloured a few images in using both options and I have to say I fell for the Caramel Apple!!!

So some details - The paper is Halloween Grunge from Whimsy Stamps - I have to say I LOVE the designs but the papers are a bit 'shiny' for me - not sure how much I will be using them only because of the shine!  The flower was a free gift with some petals I purchased a while ago - I never ever thought I would use this colour!!! The lace is from my stash and coloured with my copics - I also tried to ruffle it as its always something that I have tried and failed at - but on this occasion it worked quite well (my little tip for this is if your using narrow tape put two lies of it down - it sticks better!!).  The goo across the top was sent to me by a very kind friend - I have been trying too get hold of the punch for a while and she sent me some just to help me out - I also coloured it with my copics!

Oh yes and I so had to use the Bride of Chrisenstein Betty  available from the Simply B store! - she is my all time FAVOURITE right now - I don't know why - maybe its cause she was my first one to colour with green skin?!?! Well I decided to keep this quite simple as I have a little plan to make something 'big' with her - but then again she may be on her way to a special family member in the morning!!!

She was coloured with copics (as well as everything else that is coloured!)

E31, E33, YG21, YG25

Well I really hope you like her and I hope that more of you may play along with us over at Simply Challenged Challenges - I have had SO much fun once again with this challenge and although I can't wait for the next challenge I don't want this to end!!!

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges

Craftymess Challenge - Halloween
Di's Digi Designs - Halloween

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have time to let me know what you think of this creation - look forward to seeing you again soon

The Black Swan

Eveing all - well on the up - yes I sure am - feeling so so so much better now! OK its only thanks to Night Nurse that I am - but I so hope I keep up like this - have felt so so poorly recently!

Anyway - back to why I'm here - can you guess??? Yep the 13 Days of Halloween Challenges - I can't believe we are up to day 10! only three more days :(

Simply Challenged Challenges

I have SO been enjoying challenging myself the last couple of weeks - trying hard to think outside the box and make something different and test spooky!!!

Well Im here with the latest challenge - it stumped me at first - the theme is

'The show'

yep - I know that didn't mean much to me at first then I read what it was about!

'Ghouls, Killers and Witches on the big screen - use any non 'persona' image and make it resemble your favourite movie ghoul, ghost, witch or scary persona'

Ha ha it made NO sense to me - so after goggling 'persona' and lots of chatting I have finally come up with something….

The Black Swan - (Not to be confused with the 1942 swashbuckler film 'the black swan')

Its an American psychological thriller and horror film - the plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious NYC company.  The production requires the ballerina to play both the innocent and fragile White Swan as well as the dark and sensual Black Swan - between two dancers whom audition for the part are bot are embodied with qualities for each part - when the two dancer compete - for one the pressure causes them to lose their tenuous grip on reality as the defends into a living nightmare

Now I will confess and say i have only ever seen snippets of this film - and Im not one for being scared outa my seat - and the bits that I have seen did me NO favours - My sister and my mum have both seen it all the way through and found it quite scary!  And so here is my take on the film 'The Black Swan'

The image is the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy Lola from Simply B Stamps - now I LOVE this girl and it was pretty hard to colour her the way I have - Now I NEVER thought I would colour and image other than the way I thought it should be - and this is NOT how I saw her - BUT I am so so happy with how she has turned out!!! She was coloured with copics

E000, E00, E02, W2, W4, W5, W7

I die cut her with my oval scalloped nesties and then added memento start nights around the endue.  The paper is a DP that I purchased a LONG time ago - and I have no idea where from.  I also used my sissiz corner dies the I attached to the back of the image to give the swirls and y QC ballet shoes die!

Well I really hope you like my creation - I have to say I LOVE it - and so did my sister when she saw it! I would like to enter this card to the following challenges

Fairy Tale - Monochrome with dies and/or punches

Thanks so much for stopping by - remember the Boo! Hop (Im sure the other girls would LOVE to have you stop by too!!!) sign up - you could win $15 to spend at Simply B Stamps  - If you have a moment I would LOVE to know what you think of my card!

See you soon

BOO Surprised you Betty

Morning/Afternoon/Evening all - well this has been a long time coming and its finally here - Now as you know there are a number of us around blogland in the UK that LOVE Simply B Stamps - but here in the UK Halloween is not something many people get into - so we have decided to do a special hop for the one and only Betty to show her how much we appreciate what she does and that over here we are trying!!!

I also would like to thank Corinne for letting us do this hop and starting us off!!!

So welcome to the hop!

So glad your here!! Now if you have come from Corinne's blog your on the right tracks - if not you need to pop back to there and start from the beginning!! Here is the list so you can see where to go!

Katrina http://flutterbytrina.blogspot.co.uk - YOU ARE HERE

Ok so I know you all wondering what i have made - well as you have all seen I have been SO into trying to make loads of decorations for my house this halloween and I really can't wait to make even more - but I think the house is starting to get cluttered! and so this time I have made something that will be on my front door on the 31st October!!

Now I have had to photograph it inside for now as its rather wet and dark outside - But I have made 6 little wreaths wrapped with ribbon, on the inside of them they say 'spooky' and then I have used two of my favourite betty images that will be stuck on the outside of the window!

Firstly there is Banshee Lola - now I love colouring her up - but this time I tried her without lines - it wasn't the easiest!!!

She was printed at 20% opacity (not brave enough for 10 yet!) and coloured with copics

YR000, E00, E21, E50, E51, E53, E55, E33, E35, E37

Im so impressed with how she has turned out and I WILL be using the no lines more and more I think!

Next up we have the cute Betty Skellinton available here (I don't know how long for though!)

I just LOVE colouring her up too - she is so cute! Now I have decided that i would like to give a little something away so I will be buying and giving away a $15 voucher for the Simply B Store - all you need to do it leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning! I will draw a winner on October 31st at 8pm - Good Luck everyone!!!

Well I hope you have enjoyed stopping by - now you need to hop over to the very talented Anita and see what she has created! Thanks for hopping by - hope you will come back soon! If you have a moment I would love to know what you think of my creation!

See you soon

Afternoon all - ohhh how I feel like death warmed up at the moment - all I want is a good long sleep!! But thats not going to happen - so I have been thinking and thinking and thinking with the latest challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges - now when you ill you have no inspiration anyway…. so this has taken me so so long….

The challenge this time over at Simply Challenged Challenges is

Simply Challenged Challenges
'Witches Stockings'
So your creation needs to have stripes…

I have taken some inspiration from the wonderful Aeryn - she is the queen of no likes - I have tried before but never been successful but I think I may be getting there now!

I printed my image at 30% opacity and thought we would start there - Don't think its come out too bad -  I coloured with copics

YR000, E00, E21, YR16,  YR07, YR68
B34, E33, E35, YG03, YG17

The papers are all from my halloween stash!

I added some dies cuts from my little stash - I must sit down and cut more later!

Skeleton Dance

Evening - well yes I sure know its evening - starting to feel somewhat rough again - i think once this is posted its wind down for bed! How are you anyway!? SO yes I have been playing with crafty stuff on and off all day!! Once again its for the wonderful challenges over at Simply Challenged Challenges - were now on Day 8 - I can't believe it!!!

Simply Challenged Challenges

So this theme is Skeleton Dance - Its a colour and element challenge must use bones/skulls/skeletons and ONLY black and white - well the black and white were easy - but Skeletons…. Ummmmm yep thats where I thought I was stumped….

Ok I can't get it much closer…. I have made another halloween decoration for my home!

I made it using squares of papers and then rolled them into cones, then I used silicone to glue them to a disk behind and then added my image (coloured in black and white) die cut with my nesties onto the decoration. First I used the gorgeous Betty Skellington,

Then I had to use the fab Little Skeleton Oscar - I found it so hard not to colour him in colour! The papers are digital ones - you can't see but one does have skeletons all over it!!!

and then finally I had to use the puppy from Betty Skellington, just so cute! Again these were digi papers!  Now you may be thinking - OK so she has covered the black and white but what about the Skeletons….

Well when I went shopping last week I purchased a string of them, after moving them about a bit  I managed to put each decoration in-between skeletons….

ewwww he is a bit eerie!!! Well I hope you like my creation - I know I'm happy with this one! I would like to enter this into the following challenges

Anything But A Card - Halloween
Catered Crop - Circles
Heck Of A Challenge - Spooktacular

Graveyard Hanging….

Evening - well I need to keep this brief as hubby is home and I am full of cold - well a sore throat and horrid cough - sleep tonight will be little to none! So I'm here to share with you another creation for the 13 Days of Halloween Challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges - I am determined now more than ever that I will complete all of them!!!

Simply Challenged Challenges

So were now onto Day 7 - only 6 more to go - I can't believe it! This has all been SOOO much fun - I don't want it to end! Anyway back to the theme

Grave Digger - Create a graveyard scene

WOW that was all I said - and we only had about a day and half to do it!!! SO the thinking cap went on - I had a wonderful idea but didn't have all the materials - and so I decided to make a halloween hanging for above my fire place

Now Im sorry for the photos - didn't know how to take them tonight! so yes we have to put up with a bit of flash! The frame is one that I purchased from Sainsburys and just painted it black (about 5 times) today and then sprayed it with Spray and Shine to make it shine again!

here is a bit of a close up - I have used so many images from SBS! I love them all - and ohh the background - thats from MIC - Oh how I love their background images!!!

The whole image was coloured with copics - I used so many i lost track of what was what! Well I hope you like my creation! I would like to enter it into the following challenge;

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon!

Feeling Green

Evening all - well another latish post from me, had a strange day today - found out there is a craft shop about 15 minuets away so I decided to pay it a visit - what a beautiful shop - and they had halloween stuff - the whole front window was decorated with ghosts and gules! It was FAB to see a craft shop into the spirit.  So as you can imaging I just had to buy something - mmmm well a few bits - I treated myself to a die and a few papers - It was only then that i was inspired to make another card for the 13 days of Halloween Challenge over at Simply Challenged Challenges

Simply Challenged Challenges

So if you remember the theme is 'Slime and grime' you need to use lime green and distressing - so this time I have kept it a bit more simple than the last one and I hope it counts as there is not too much green but each layer is distressed with my SU tool!

These are the fab bits I purchased from the new shop i found! The papers are just SOOOO fab! I had to use them - the red stipe looks really bright in the photo (I think thats cause of the flash) looking at it here it looks really aged and weathered.  The brown dots are just LUSH! and oh the die - yes I just had to have this die!!

I also added the pumpkin charm sent to me by the wonderful Anda from Crafty Fresian - you have to take a look at her work its FAB! (big thank you's too for sending me them!)

The image is the beautiful Bride of Chrisenstein Betty - she is available from Simply B Stamps! I just love colouring her up -especially green!!!

As I wanted the 'lime' to 'pop' I wanted to keep it to a small area and each layer was distressed with my SU tool (I think you cab see it above!) She was coloured with copics

YG21, YG25, R24, R27, R29, W2, W3, W4, W5

Well I hope you like her (and I hope she is acceptable for the challenge!) You know where I'm entering it too!!!

Thanks for stopping by - hope to see you again soon
