Pear Tree Designs - Challenge 34 'flowers'

Evening all, well i'm very late posing today! I'm very sorry.  Having one of those days!

Well this week over at Pear Tree Designs, we are looking for all your beautiful flowers
So this week were looking for you all to add flowers to your project/card!

This week we are sponsored by Robyns Fetish, we were so fortunate to be able to work with some of the digis from there!

The prize this week is 5 digital images of your choice or 4 digital images and one paper pack

How good is that?!?!

Why not pop over to the shop and take a  look for yourself at the wonderful images!

So onto my creation for the week.  Where I have been non stop with returning to work so I haven't had much time to craft, so this week i have done a very simple card, but sometimes simple is the way forward!

I used the adorable 'A Little Birdie told me' image, I must say that I had not realised that this was the name of the digi till now! Oh how well does that go with the sentiment!!!

 I printed the digi twice and coloured the wings, tail and flowers twice so i couple decoupage the image up, I layered it onto centura pearl card stock, I felt the colours went well!

Well I hope you will pop over to Pear Tree Designs and see what the other member on the DT created as well as take the time to look at Robyns Fetish and see the beautiful images there!

My New hair!

Evening all, well I have not crafted a single bit today!  I have had some 'me' time and had my hair done.  i was bored of screwing my hair back in the morning to do the school run and feeling like a 'scruff'.

So after a lot of thinking I went to the hairdressers today and had something I would consider to be quite drastic! bearing in mind my hair was thick, quite fine with a kink here and there!

So what do you think?!?!

For a Special Sister

Evening everyone, happy crafting days and nights I hope for all!

Well been busy and making tonight, being back at work has drained me the last couple of days, have been fortunate enough to work from home today, so after working I made the most of being able to catch up on housework with no children!  Got one awake at the moment! GRRR!!!

Well my boss asked me to make a card for her sister, nothing like a bit of notice! She needs it for Tuesday, so thinking ahead I thought I would get it done tonight, so at least if i didn't finish it tonight I would get it finished over the weekend.

All my boss said was her sister liked crystals and angels, well I spent ages looking for the right image, then I came across this beauty at digital pencil too, she is called sending peace, click here to go to Mo's store

When I printed the image I printed her bigger than I needed her, but I decided that I would find a way around it. So I made an easel card!  Once I had coloured her with pro-markers I went around the edge of the entire image with the vanilla pen to give the effect of light.

  I mounted her onto a piece of dusky pink bazzill stock and then used my Tim Holtz brushed corduroy ink pad along with my SU dabbers to get the effect around her, I also went over the bazzill stock as I felt it showed the detail on the paper a bit more.  I then mounted her onto plain black card.  I went over the lines on her wings with my art glitter glue and then sprinkled glitter onto her.  The doves have just had a little bit of grey on to add a bit of detail to them.

From a bit of the Bazzill card I had a made the small rose (OK so I love making them at the moment!) and then used a bit more of the ink around the petals.  You can just see on the edge how the Bazzill stock has small raised bubbles on,

The sentiment is something I just thought of and wrote on my word program on my computer, I then cut it out with my nestabilities as well as a larger oval for the backing, I then went round with rhinestones just to add a bit more detail.  I just used some purple ribbon I had in my stash!

This is my 1st every easel card I have made (thanks for the inspiration Lou)!

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Fab 'n' Funky - Delight in your Digi
The Sisterhood of Crafters - anything goes
Tuesday Throw down - Distressing
Gingerloft - Things that fly
CES Challenges - Angels and Fairies
One Stop Craft Challenge - More thank one fold

I hope you like it.  If you have time, please let me know what you think

thanks for taking the time to look!

My New Crafting Friend

Afternoon all, This post is to introduce you to a new friend of mine, Mrs Toyota.

She has been sat in the bottom of the airing cupboard for about three months, every time I have gone in there, she appears cosy but longing for attention! Today I allowed her to see the light of day! we did come across some issues such as how to not being able to find her foot or electricity cable, but we found them and then had a play!

As you can see she has a few different stitches for me to play with and
This is the card front I created using my new friend, its nothing too fancy, but not bad for a 1st attempt.  Now at some point in the next week i'm going to go and buy some new coloured cottons, just so I can play! How exciting!

This is my friend showing off holding the card front like she did it all!!! LOL

Well as soon as I get the card front attached and finished I will post some 'serious' details for you

xx

My new look Blog

Afternoon all, well I should have been crafting, I'm going to get my sewing machine up later to try stitching on cards, just hope i can find some cotton! Just wondered what you all think of my new look blog??  I decided although the butterflies were me and looked good, they were a bit dark! so we have gone bight and colourful with a touch of princess class, let me know what you think?

Husband, Be mine...

Afternoon everyone, well I sat there last night trying to make this card so hubby didn't and wouldn't see it, but we all know what men are like, no he had to go and be nosey!! And so I sat there and finished it with him watching!!! Oh well, his loss, i'm not making him another one! (I'm sure I will!!)

Well I decided I was going to play with the 'stash' of acetate I have sat amongst the papers,  I also in my rummage found all my cuttlebug embossing folders! so they came out to play too!   It took me about 10 minuets to remember what plate I needed in my Big Shot to use the folders!  The only problem I have with the embossing folders is that they are one size and sometimes I want a large embossed background! So last night i joined 2 small ones together! (ok so i had never thought of that before, but on my swirl one it wont work!) It wasn't until after i had put it all together I realised I had gold peel offs and silver miri card! LOL, I still think it looks OK??

The card base is acetate, I used my Argyle cuttlebug embossing folder on the silver miri card and on a sheet of centura pearl red paper, on the inside I have used peel offs to wright 'I LOVE YOU', I also covered the inside panel where I stuck the from with a piece of the centura pearl red paper.

The digi is a free one from Claudia and Co, I got it a few weeks ago,just haven't had time to play with it. I thought it was the perfect image for a valentines day card!

I have coloured it with pro-markers, I used antique pink, poppy and cardinal red, I also used denim blue around all the streamer parts.

I then used Tim Holtz brushed corduroy with a dabber from SU to give the aged effect

I then went round the edges of 2 of the hearts with some 2mm rhinestones just to add a bit of a sparkle, I used gold peel offs for the wording.

I have entered this card to the following challenges;
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Love is in the air
Lexis Creations - Valentines
Passion for Promarkers - Let it Shine

If you have a moment, please let me know what you think!

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #52

Afternoon all!
We have been up early today as we have been to bottle feed some lambs at my friends chicken farm, Amelia's face was a picture being able to feed a new baby a bottle, she giggled all the way through!

Well over at Papertake Weekly this week we have a sketch to follow! How exciting, I had never done a card on a sketch until now! It was so much fun.

Our sponsor this week is Is Simon Says Stamp,

the prize is a $20.00 voucher to spend in Heidi's shop! Why not pop over and take a look??

Here is the sketch we followed;

And here is my design for the week;

The digi is from AI Factory, I have coloured it with my pro-markers using pastel pink and dusky pink, the laces were coloured with satin.
The papers are from my (slowly reducing) stack of centura pearl card, I have used the Dark purple, Pale purple, Pale pink and White.
I used my little template to do the little swirls with pearls (look at me rhyming!) above, I stuck the words on a small piece of the white centura pearl card in gold with peel offs.

The rose was made with the pale pink centura pearl paper, I decided not to put glitter on this one just for a different effect! (I think i'm starting to get better at these!)

I would like to enter this card too the following challenges;

Stamp Fairy - Circles
The Crafty Pad - Girly
Creative Inspirations - shades of you favourite colour

Thanks for looking, I hope you will join us this week, look forward to seeing you there!

If you have a moment, please feel free to leave a comment!

Pear Tree Designs Challenge 33 - Blue

Good Morning! I hope everyone is having a happy monday! (although its stupid o'clock here in UK)

Had a crafty session tonight! the creativity has just been there so thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Over at Pear Tree Designs! This week we want to see BLUE creations, so most of your creation needs to be blue!  Its so lovely to see how different people interpret the challenge!

The sponsor this week is

The digis over there are lovely, why not take a look, so may of them there and they are very reasonable prices!  The winner this week will receive 3 digital images of their choice!

Well onto my creation for the design team.

As you may know the other day I brought some digi's from Digi Doodle Shop, You have seen my creation with 'All Dressed Up', so it was time for 'Lil Cowboy' to show his 'cheeks' (LOL)!!

The flourishes at the bottom have been stuck by hand I had a template from an embossing folder that i tried to follow, I seem to have a 'thing' for flourishes at the moment! I would like to learn a bit more about how to create the right flourish! But i suppose it will all come in time!

The card base is from a pack of Centura Pearl Card I have hidden in the stash! Its a very pale blue, it almost looks silver in some lights! I must say its hard to use it as its so nice, but I have got to start using the stash up, I have no more space for papers (and I want some new ones)!
The rhinestones are a pastel blue colour. I have mounted the image on some mulberry paper that has been sat there, one mounted I tore the edges!
The image has been coloured with pro-markers, I think i'm getting better with skin tones (any advise welcomed)?!!?

If you have time why not join us in the challenge this week? Would be good to see you there!

(please note there are a MAX 2 entry's per blog, if you add more than two you will be removed.  We have had a number of people not following the rules so please make sure you understand the challenge before entering )

I found my bug! and got a JOB!

Evening all!

Well crafty bug was hiding, but found him now so feeling very happy. Been a very good evening! I know I said I was going to have a no crafting day but the bug just appeared (I haven't asked him where he has been yet, but I will approach that subject later!) and so we had a session! This is what we created...

The card base was created from a 'scrap' of 12x12 I had laying around, The actual card is 6'' by 10'', so I now have to go and make and envelope!

While crafting I have to have the TV on for noise purposes, there was an advert for the new Disney film Tangled, I had said to Mark I wanted to go, the next moment my phone rang and it was a friend of mine asking if Milly and I would like to go to the premier on Sunday! If that wasn't enough she has then offered me a job, I haven't worked since Amelia's 2nd birthday, due to pregnancy ect and so I am now so excited about returning to work! I start on Wednesday, just a few hours a week!

Anyhow, back to my card. This morning I sat her looking around blogland and I came across Digi Doodle Shop, I looked at their children digis and fell in love with this little madam (but I also had to have the little boy they do too!!), I couldn't wait to play with her,

I am slightly annoyed with my-self though, I need to stock up on a few of my pro-markers that are 'running out' so to speak, I went past the shop today and forgot to go in. Her skin tone hasn't come out too well as my 'blush' has run out! But I will get one next time I pass. Her skin tone looks nothing in the photo I am trying so hard to blend my colours for different effects and tones, but I will learn in time!

This is a paper rose I have made from a tutorial I saw over at the Outlaws, I have had to cut the flower shapes by hand from a template as I have no flower punch (I do have one on order now!) It has come out a bit bigger than I wanted it too, but I don't think it looks too bad! Will be glad when my punch comes through so I can Play more!

I have entered this card to;

I (heart) ProMarkers - Keep It Sweet and Simple
Flourishes - go BIG larger than 5'' by 7''
Stamp Something - Cute Somethings
Alphabet Challenge - L is for Ladies
Daring Cardmakers - A card for yourself (all i hear from my eldest is 'sorry mummy')
Delicious Doodles - Get well or cheer 'em up

If you have chance, let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by!

My lil bugs gone!!!

Evening all, well it has been a busy couple of days what with washing, cleaning ect, today spent the day at my mums, trying to catch up on crafty stuff!

I still have my mount board to do for my 1st class in March, only a couple of weeks to get it done, so far it has three cards on it, its an A1 mount board so needs a lot more work! Im lacking, got no inspiration the last couple of days.

Taking tomorrow off from crafting as Mark is home for the day (he is normally home on Fridays, not Thursdays), so going to spend some time with him. Were going to get Nancy her next car seat (she has grown too much) and do Tesco (Oh the joys)!

Well i'm going to go and browse everyones blogs for a while to try and find my lil bug thats missing!
(if you see my bug can you let me know! he is about 3'' tall, purple and has 2 antenna This photo was taken when he was having a bad day, a bit like today i suppose! )

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Ribbons and Pearls

Afternoon everyone, been a busy morning but still have so much to do, why can you empty the washing basket and then turn around and its full again!?!? Never Mind!!

So this week over at Papertake Weekly the theme is Ribbons and Pearls! Our sponsor is The Paper shelter , I was over on their site this morning, going back later on, their images are adorable, i'm head over heals for 'Sophie in the country'. If you have a moment, why not take a look??

When I have made cards in the past I have always done one or the other on a card (Ribbon or Pearls), so it was a bit out (hands stretched wide apart) of my comfort zone to put both! But after a long time sat thinking (while scratching head for inspiration) I came up with this;

You can just see where i have stamped flourishes in versamark for the background, I decided to go over just one to add more effect, The Image was a free one from CDAC before christmas, I cut the circles with my nesties, the blue one in on miri card, The pearls were put on by hand (when went to my little pearl and sparkle box had no adhesive pearls so had to stick each pearl by hand, and im not one for the time it took, I get too fluttery!) The ribbon I stuck on with double sided tape (and got it strait for a change!) and placed the pearls on the bottom for added detail.

I have entered this card to;

Critter Challenge Blog - Blue, Silver and Pearls
Paper Playtime - Use the word Love
The secret crafter - With love
Die Cut Dreams - Use a Digi and Rubber Stamp (the back is stamped with a flourish stamp and versamark)

Thanks for popping by, If you have time let me know what you think!

I should have been out with my mum for her 50th birthday tonight, but because of my foot were out tomorrow, also should have been at tap but not worth trying to go to tap! I could have gone to stampin' up club night, but cant drive all the way over there, although i feel better, still think the tablets are still effecting me!
