Top Tip Tuesday #49 Shabby Chic

Morning all, well now is the official countdown, only 8 days till my big girl has her 1st day at big school! How time has flown! Washed all her uniform ready and were having 'practice runs' for getting up in the mornings now, just so were all used to it!

Well im here to share with you the challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday this week, and man was this out of my comfort zone! This week were looking for you

Shabby Chic Creations

Now as we have had a few people leave the team the last couple of weeks, it left this week slightly open the theme was set and so we have all decided that we will give you our own interpretation of what we believe shabby chick is, here is my inspiration for you!

To me Shabby Chic is plain and subtle, its not a plain white, its an off white blended with subtle pinks and greens, it flows, its warm and welcoming.   I had spent so long looking about for inspiration searching key words and looking at others creations.... and then took the card blank in one hand, papers in the other and then tried not to think too much about what I was doing!

I was rather impressed at what I came up with.  The papers is from a set I purchased from Stitchy Bear, I just fell in love with this one when i first saw it, I tried everything to create what I wanted to... I tried digi images, stamped images, die cuts and couldn't fill it, then i remembered something a friend said to me last week....

Its Difficult ti say what is impossible,
for the dream of yesterday
is the hope of today
and the reality of tomorrow

I have no idea where the saying is from but felt it fitted here rather nicely!

I printed the wording from my computer and used my nestabilities to cut it out, i used my cats eye chalk ink pad around the side and then mounted it onto a piece of cream shimmer bazzill to tie it in a bit more.

I then printed the backing paper again but changed the opacity of the image using my word document and printed this on A4 to make an insert.

So all in all yes I was scared when I saw the challenge, but I would like to say I would love to make another Shabby Chic creation as it was lots of fun!

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

Heart Song Inspiration - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
All Things Unity - Anything Goes

Well I hope I have inspired you to join us this week,  I would love to know what you think of my creations, if you have time let me know! Look forward to seeing what you create,

Good Luck

AHHHH An Order!

Evening all, well were home from holiday, been home a few days but been so busy with washing and two kids that have been given far too much attention last week that cant cope with the fact that mummy has stuff to do,  I have not had much time to get on here!

I have been trying to catch up on orders that I have had, they are all for friends and so know there may be a time delay, they are all pretty cool about it - I ask them a month in advance if they want anything!

1st of all this morning I had to complete a card for my friend, she was meant to pick it up last night but she was caught in traffic and so went strait to the party! Here is the card I made for her!

She asked for a card for a girl who was 10 - 10... what are 10 year old girls into?!!
She wanted it in pinks and purples, I was hoping that I had more purple card stock, but I didn't have any that would match! I did colour some of the image in purple though! I used a DL card blank and Bazzil stock - AHHH I love that pink colour! Its FAB and FUNKY!

I layered the image on black and then on pink and black again! I added stick on gems to each corner just to bling it up a bit! Every girl loves shiny things!

Heres a close up of the image! I love and and have soo loved colouring her, i used a mix between my promarkers and my flex markers, i'm starting love love my flex markers too now, need to practice more with them thought!

I have entered this card to the following challenges;

Sugar Nellies Facebook Challenge - Black
Stamps R Us - Anything Goes
One Stop Craft Challenge - Anything But Square

I was also over the moon that I have had another order in for 'Save The Date' cards! and I have even managed to complete them in one night! So they will be going off to the couple in the next 24 hours.

Here is a photo of them!

So love this design, its so simple and yet has such a clout to it! I know the person that has ordered these will be over the moon when they receive them!

Well i need to hit the sack, another early start tomorrow and so hope to get a bit more time crafting, considering moving the freezer out from the cupboard and locking myself in there with a 'disturb at your own risk' sign, i have had serious withdrawal symptoms from crafting last week and need a good old session to feed the pain!

Will see you all Tomorrow!

Top Tip Tuesday #48 Masculine Creations

Morning all, well another week has flown by, the kids will be back at school before we know it! I know I was saying a couple of weeks back roll on back to school, but i'm kinda sad now that its so close! Went out last week and brought Amelias 1st pair of school shoes, cant believe it has come round so fast!

Yesterday was my 25th birthday! had a rather quiet day, but enjoyed it, had to pack and make sure all the housework was up to date as we are going on holiday - only to the south coast for a few days but man am i looking forward to it!

Well i'm here to share with you the challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday this week, we are looking for

Masculine Creations

Well I know how I struggle with creations for my husband, dad, father-in-law ect. so this week challenged me a bit more!  there is only so much decoupage I can bare to look at and do, let alone keep sending it to people year after year!

So I decided to purchase a few 'male' digis and see how I got on.

Well I was very impressed with ones self when I looked at it all together.... The digi is from Tickled Pink Stamps, I have quite a few of them now and have never really coloured many up till now... Been on a mission of colouring, now one must create ore and more!

This is Luca, he can be found on the Tickled Pink Shop Here.  I was so worried about colouring him, but he was easier than I thought... OK so I was relying on the fab new fine tips for my pro-markers to help me out, but they did the job!  I coloured him using Warm Grey 4 and 5, Blush, Ice Grey 1 and Poppy to colour him in.  I cut him out and mounted him onto some red bazzil from my stash.

The backing paper is one that I found on the internet, I just did a google search for free playing card DP and saw this one, I printed it onto a4 paper and the mounted it onto white card.  The sentiment i just typed on my computer, played with the font printed and cut it, then mounted it onto red bazzill again!

The small playing cards in the top right corner are from Printable Heaven, they have some fab papers over there and they are not too expensive either!

Well I hope you like what I have created and that you will join in with us this week at Top Tip Tuesday! Please hop over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have created and if you have time please show them a bit of love and leave a comment, we all love to read what you think!

before I go I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

Cards for Men - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
Lollipop Crafts - Make It Masculine
Sparkles Forum - For The Boys

Look forward to seeing your creations

An Attempt!

Morning all, well I wanted t try and blog all of these yesterday but time ran away and I got an early night in, althoug it didnt go to plan as the youngest was unwell again! Oh the joys of parenthood!
Well this is the final card that I made yesterday, not sure on it my self but thought I would share it with you for your opinions!

I love the image its from Tickled Pink Stamps, I have quite a collection of these now but never feel that i colour them right, i think its each to their own! I coloured her using my promarkers using;

Blossom, Lilac, Emerald green, Pastel Beige, Caramel, Raw Sienna, Cocoa, Amethyst and Aubergine.

I know the flowery paper is an American Crafts sheet called P-Funk.

The flowers were just from my stash (my oh my do i have a stash now!) I decided to try and put pink in there too, but not sure if it works!

Below are a couple of closer pictures of the image, it has been pointed out to try and put shading in her eyes, I will try that one next time...

I also think I should have put more dark purple in the hat for the shadow...
The image was printed and then I die cut it using my spellbinders, I used one of my gelly roll pens around the edge for faux stitching and also made it darker by using a fine liner pen too!around

The one bit I was impressed with was the colouring on her dress, turned out just as I wanted it|!

I have decided that I will enter it into a challenge,

Tickled Pink Challenges - Anything Goes

Well i'm open to any advise on this one!
Thanks for stopping by

Well onto show you the 2nd creation from today! This time I have used the lovely digi from Sugar nellies - Bambino, ohh this one will always be one of my favourite!

Looking at him now im still not sure on him! I think its too white! he is mounted on blue and there is blue ink around the edge but its lacking! maybe I will try and add flowers next time!

heres a close up of what he looks like, this is such a fab digi to colour as the shading is already there for you! You can colour it in one colour if you want! Thanks why i love it and for new baby cards and christenings its fab!

I used two colours on the skin tone this time! I used Blush and Dusky Pink, but you cant really see it! I used pastel Blue and Denim Blue on his hat and pastel beige on the blanket and the bobbles on his hat!
