Incy Wincy Challenge 70

Hello everyone! well today i have actually finished some bits I have started. I have been on a colouring mission and not actually finished any... until tonight. The card below will be entered into incy Wincy Challenge 70.

Why not pop over to http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.com/ and enter!

The challenge is a simple recipe;

2 Papers
3 Flowers
1 Image

The Image is called 'Two Jill' from MJM (http://digitalpenciltoo.com/), she has been coloured with pro-markers and cut to size. The papers have sat in the christmas box for ages so i have no idea as to where they are from, I have written in pink peel offs 'All I Want For Christmas...', they were purchased at a craft show about a year ago!

I hope you like it!
Let me know what you think!

Watching the Stage

Hi, just thought I would share one that i have made last week. The digi stamp is from phindys place and its called the 'big girls class'. It reminds me of my eldest daughter who started ballet back in June. Her auntie is training to be a dance teacher so it made me giggle a bit. I have coloured the image with pro-markers and drawn the background my self again coloured the pro-markers!

I have tried to set it as a scene... what do you think?

Recent Makes

Morning all, well just thought i would post a few photos of what i have done recently. Most are just stamped and embossed images and then coloured with
pro-markers! Still got a number of orders to catch up with and all my own christmas cards to do!

So here they are. The baby cards are a stamp from Whiff of joy, what beautiful stamps they are! love some of the now ones too, just havent had time to sit down and have a proper look at the site yet.

The ones below are Lili of The Valley Stamps, I went a bit mad when they brought all the christmas stuff out! well they were on offer then! I have just used my Nestabilities around the stamped image. the snowflake stamp is an inkadinkado set i brought last year.

All the images have been stamped with versa fine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I then colour all my images with promarkers
If you have any questions, please post a comment below!

MJM Makes

Hello again, just winding down for tonight (as per the request of my dear husband)and thought i would share with you the ones I have done today! First up is a lovely little fairy from MJM (digital pencil too), i enjoyed colouring her today with how cold it has been, made me feel slightly warm inside! I have used pro-markers and i am trying to blend the colours to make skin tones look real! Practice makes perfect! The sentiment says 'on your special day' I have used peel offs round the edge as borders!

This one is a favourite, if he was a she it would be my milly! The sentiment reads 'never too old 30 today' I thought it would make a nice 30th birthday for someone! well you are never too old for a tantrum! Hope you like them! Cant wait to play again tomorrow!

Sleep Tight!

Stampin up Club Night (19/11/2010)

Hello! Sorry it has taken me so long to post theses! But here are the cards from club night on Friday! Had a fun time. 4 cards made in about an hour and half. Such lovely simple yet effective cards.

The first one on the left is the most simple one we did, just stamped and mounted in the photo you cant see the perforated lines that were added or the glitter.

Second is a lovely one that has beautiful hearts that were punched from red card stock and then glazed and a bit of glitter added. we mounted the paper, the green ribbon and the red over the top. The greeting was stamped and the hearts glued on.

The Robin card was made with the Birds and Branch punch. We punched the bird in brown and then just the breast in red, we did shape it a bit. The branches were punched in green and stuck to the back. The orange card was spritzed with water and then layered onto the red and mounted onto the brown card.

This was my favourite of the night, I love baubles at christmas and as they has a special offer i treated myself! cant wait to get them through
and start playing! The border at the bottom of the card was created with a jumbo wheel. We stamped the baubles onto white card and punched them out, stamped the greeting onto white card and layered it up. Again so simple and so effective!

Chilly Wednesday Makes

Afternoon all, its so cold here in the UK, I'm sat on top of the radiator on full heat! cant believe how cold it is. Well took Milly to school and then came home, sone a couple of cards this morning, This is one from a CDAC challenge, We had the Sketch and the image and this is what I came up with! Hope you like it! If you get time and fancy getting your crafty fingers on a few free digi's, pop over to http://priscillastyles.ning.com/ and sign up, would be lovely to see you there!

I have also been pplating with another MJM image i have purchased, Every time I look at these images i just fall more and more in love! This one is Kai in the snow, such a lovely image, whats better is that kai is not specific in gender, so you just chooses the colours you want him/her to be in! I found some sonowflake charms I purchased years ago thought they complemented the theme! As you can see I have done this one for a baby boys first christmas.

Well i will get back to crafting. Tomorrow i wont be on here till late afternoon, maybe even as late as the evning. Down at the toddler group tomorrow morning and then to the brownies till 8, but i will find some time to craft! Im sure i will be back later!

Thanks for looking!

Tuesdays Makes (from http://priscillastyles.ning.com/)

Good morning to those of you just getting up, goodnight to those of you going to bed and good afternoon to those of you in the afternoon!

Had a bit of a funny one today, no get up and go. Have made a few cards though. Last night I came across a wonderful site that has some adorable free digis on!

http://priscillastyles.ning.com/

If you like digi stamps, go and join! such lovely people there! and some of the images are beautiful.

Here are the cards i have made today - this little guy (on the left) looks so peaceful, i have just coloured him with pro-markers and used the spellbinders on the red spotty papers. The greeting says 'peace on earth' its just a peel off that i had and stuck it to the ribbon.

This little girl has such lovely eyes! she just says 'hug me'. She is also from CDAC
(http://priscillastyles.ning.com/), again she is just coloured with pro-markers. The paper is one i have not been able to prat with, I purchased it when I fist started crafting, but i have decided that i need to start using some of these papers I have! although its hard when its one of the first one you purchased.

This one was another free image. I had a lot of wide ribbon and had no idea as to what to do with it, so today i tried to make little tags down the side of the card. I stuck 2 lines of double sided sticky tape and just doubled the ribbon back on its self! OK so I did run the iron over it to smooth the ribbon down! but i felt it needed it!

As you can see they are all christmas cards, I have just realised that there are less than 40 sleeps to christmas so now im going into panic mode! Have orders coming out my ears, and havent even started on my personal cards, as well as a couple of local evens that i have signed my self up for!

well thats me over and out for tonight, not sure if i will be about tomorrow as its a busy day for me with school and ballet runs!

See you later!

Popcorn the Bear, Quick Makes

Hey, here are a popcorn the bear card i made for a friends son and daughter in law a week or so ago, just found it on here wile trying to up-load a few photos ect! The image is from the Popcorn the Bear Romance collection. I stamped the image twice as i like to layer this one up, I heat embossed both of the images and then coloured them with pro-markers,

Hope you like it!

A Lazy Day, With a little help from Milly!

well had a bit of a lazy day, be dipping in and out of crafting all day so far, got a few done, but tonight is a mission night! I'm at the toddler group on Thursday with my cards, and then helping at the brownies Thursday night. Came across a brill website for digi stamps, Crafters Digital Art Centre, everyone has been so welcoming there and found some lovely digi stamps. Only had a quick play with them today, will have a proper play later. Here is a lovely little mouse, I have used pro-markers to colour him and put Peace on Earth along the ribbon.

Cold and Foggy Morning

Morning all, well as the title says its a very cold and foggy morning here in the UK, by 11 last night the street lights were a blurred yellow, like something out of a horror movie. I have spent the morning colouring images to finish cards off this afternoon, think i'm going to have a session with my spellbinders, I haven't had them out for a while!

I became slightly distracted while in my kitchen, from the tree in our garden to the grass there was a long cobweb that had droplets falling from it. I decided to pop outside i became amazed by a spiders web we have outside by our porch, I couldn't resist getting the camera out and snapping some photos! I thought while i have a cup of tea i would share them with you. I was thinking that they may make good backgrounds for something at some point (or maybe in my scrapbook if i ever find the time to finish it)

Well i best get back to the 'jobs' in had (did i tell you im a butterfly!)

hope you have a lovely day! See you later!

Hi everyone, just posting this one and then off to bed! I did this one a couple of weeks ago, a friend had a little boy in september and i have made him a special first christmas card. Its another MJM digi, Her designs are so beautiful. Once again coloured with pro-markers. I decided to make the back of the card look like one big present! hope you like it

Im Entering my 1st Challenge

Well i have decided to enter my 1st challenge (thank you Heather at Incy Wincy Designs). OK, so its nothing over special but its worth a shot and I would like to give it a go. Well i have the art of posting on my blog but am i going to work out how to enter?? we will wait and see, well here is the card i'm going to enter. It will hopefully be entered into Incy Wincy Designs, the challenge this week is Rock. The image i have used is from Kenny K's shop, I have coloured it with pro-markers and just used some bright papers, and i did stick little sparkly rocks on the dots! I hope you like it!!

Mondays Makes

Evening all, well I should have know nothing much would get done last night! My youngest was awake until 10pm, so i got to finish one card. I love this image called 'buds' by Maurice J Manning. I coloured the image with pro markers, i did some shading on it, but you cant seem to see it in the photo.

I feel it is such a peaceful image. I used the faux silk effect again on the background (i have put some instructions on a lower post) and just put some flowers around the edge to finish it off. Here is a closer one of the image.

Christening Card Found!

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a lovelycrafty weekend! I cant believe another weekend is over. Back to the school run, ballet run, washing, cleaning just being a general housewife/mummy.

Anyway, today I have done nothing much, other than swap all my general card stuff over with the christmas card stuff. We have a small house (one bed) and there is not room for 4 people plus toys for two children under 4 and my craft stuff, so i keep most of it in a small cupboard we have hence having to swap things over. I have to move 2 high chairs, one guitar amp, and a mound of other stuff to remotely find my stash!

While i was moving everything I came across this card I made before i had my youngest daughter, at the time of making it I was planning on using this idea as my invitations for her christening, but then i thought better of it, quite a bit of work went into this! Its a simple diamond fold card on one sheet of card stock, i will put the measurements on tomorrow. I have decoupages the forever friends bear and coloured it it. I did use i piece of pink bazzill stock for the blanket! I thought it was very nice and i'm so happy that i found it again!

As hubby is off out tonight i'm going to have a card making session with my mum, although not sure if i will get anything finished tonight! but hey ho thats the way it goes! Hope you all have a lovely evening

See you all soon

Todays Makes

I have been a bit busy today! my youngest has had me up since 5 am as she is unwell, waiting to go to the doctors now, we have an appointment at 8:30pm.

Anyway, as there was nothing much on TV i decided I would watch a bit of create and craft, must say i wasn't really watching it, I was concentrating more on trying to make cards and make sure hubby didn't lay in too much. But i decided to e-mail in, i have done a few times before but never had a mail read out before! well this morning i did, and then i went on to win a card, cant wait to get it through! its so nice to have someone else's work to look at sometimes!

Well as I said i have been busy making. This one is made with an A5 card
blank and using a technique called faux silk.

All you need is tissue paper, a stamp and some inks. I have used what I believe is a wood-ware stamp set, just love the images, reminds me of my eldest!

To do this technique you need to stamp the images onto the tissue paper, if you plan on colouring ensure that you use a water proof ink pad. For this I used Archival black.

Once you have stamped the paper you can colour the image(s) in, I have used pro-markers to do this. Allow the pen ink to dry and the scrunch the paper up, then open, but don't remove too many creases.

Then go over the top with an ink-pad or sponge to enhance the creases, I did this one with a cats eye ink. It picks up on the scrunching.

Cut a piece of card stock to the size of the area you want covered with the paper, I then covered the area of card with tombo (any glue stick should do it) and stuck the tissue paper down. I found it easier to have the tissue paper larger than the area I wanted covering so i could leave the tissue paper down and stick the card over, so you don't loose to many creases.

And there you have a Faux Silk Background! I hope this all makes sense, this is my 1st time of posting instructions! if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

The other card i have made today is with a set of poppy stamps i have. I brought them at the beginning of the year and have never sat down and used them. When i found them in the draw it made me think about 11/11 and so i felt i had more of a reason to use them. Its nothing special, Its done on an odd size card, i stamped onto one card and cut it out. Very simple inking up with different colours and sponging the ink around for the sky and grass. I didn't know what sentiment to put on, so i decided 'just to say' as then it can just be a little note-let.

Ok so im out of here for today! Planning on christmas cards tomorrow! will post what i get done!

Nancy May Bentons Birth Announcement, stampin' up club and more..

As some of you may know, back in April i had my 2nd little girl, Nancy May, I just wanted to show you all the birth announcements I made for her. I had such fun in with my mum one night doing them. I did wreck 3 of my new ink pads, but hey ho, they are there to be used!

They were so simple but looked so effective. Knowing that people will just read them and chuck them I didn't want to make them to big (yes i don't like waste), they were A6 in size. I made up the card blanks with white card stock and using my cats eyes just blended the inks direct from the pad to get a purple/pink with a hint of green background, then the image was stamed onto acetate and just stuck with double sided tape over the back! On the inside it just had the basic information that i felt people would need!

I just wish i had the time and the patience stamp and colour this image, i have seen a number of variations on it but i can never seem to get the colours right, i think its also because i can be heavy handed when i colour sometimes.

Here are one of the cards I made at my first Stampin' up meet! it was a funny night as i got lost on the way to the venue, i did get there eventually! had a wonderful night and cant believe some of the lovely stuff in the catalogue! This was one of my favourites, took me completely out of my comfort zone, scrunching paper, tearing paper, and mixing colours that i wouldn't dream of!

Were there again in a couple of weeks! cant wait to see what i bring home this time!

some recent makes

Just some bits and bobs i have made recently. Very into digital stamps at the moment, less mess and less to get out the tardis! There is one drawback, I hate the waiting for them to dry from printing! Listening to create and craft this morning they said a few minuets for things to be dry to colour with pro markers, ha ha ha ha, mine need to be left at least 2-3 hours, so I have got cleaver and print what i want the night before so it is dry for the next evening!

Loving the Maurie J Manning images, they are all so beautiful, i think that when ever i go to the web page i have a spending problem, i just add things to my basket!

The card above is one that i have made for a friend who is expecting a baby at the beginning of december, she wanted a personalised card for her 1st christmas. The image is a MJM image called First Christmas, what is so lovely about it is that you don't have to only use it for christmas, when printed just cut off the tree and bauble part! oh how much fun can be had with that! I have coloured her with pro-markers and used peel offs for the greeting!

I Love this wedding image, another MJM. this one is called 'bride and groom'. once again i have coloured this with pro-markers, I have used a subtle pink on the grooms shirt and on the back of her dress. I decided to get the nestabilities out on this
one, its been a while since i have played with them! I felt it just made the card a bit more romantic, for something smaller, what with the postage charges as they are!

This is the A5 card i made using the same image, again, she is coloured with pro-markers, but i have put glitter in the creases of her dress! just felt it added to the feel.

You can find all Maurie J Manning's images at http://digitalpenciltoo.com/.
