The Butterfly in me

Good Morning!

As promised today I'm back to show you some of what I have been doing with my time away from here!  I have learnt so many new techniques and I can't wait to share some of the with you.

Today I have chosen to share with you my crochet - A skill I learnt late last August thanks to my mum - its something that I love sitting down at the end of a busy day and spending an hour making something!! I even take it on the school run at times!

Its not been easy and there have been many disasters along the way - many times I have frogged it back, or once launched it across the room!! But I am slowly learning new techniques and ways to create what I have in my head.

Im still on the very basic stuff - but love that I can make something special in just a few days and those that I have given my creations too have always been pleased :)

This one is has to be my favourite so far, the photo doesn't do this yarn justice - its skylecraft DK in sherbet - in real life it looks more blue than the picture!   Its from this pattern available from here

The finished blanket is approx 23 inches square and felt so soft and warm, I gifted it to a friend who has recently had a baby boy - the first thing she did was wrap him in in!!

I do have it available from the website too!! ohhh yes I haven't told you!  Im moving away from all the platforms as they cost a small fortune, so we now have a  website that sells everything from our book folding patterns to finished books, as well as the paper cuts, templates and knitted and crochet items!  Would love it if you would check it out here!!

This is the same pattern as the blanket above, but with some beautiful King Cole Comfort in Rhubarb  at first I wasn't too sure on it, but once it was finished I was head over heals for it! This one came up at about 22''x24''

Again Photos just don't do it justice, but it is available now from the website here.

Well I think thats me done for today - Miss A and Miss N both have an inset day so were planning on getting our crafty on very very soon!! Don't forget to check out the website, we still have lots to add to it!!

I shall be back tomorrow with more creations!!!

The image is so easy to colour, I can't wait to do a pink one - just waiting for someone to say a pink person arrived!  The papers are form my scrap stash, and the 'welcome little one' is printed then cut on the cameo.  The lace and flowers are all from my stash.

Bambino in Blue

Evening all! well been a busy day today, got all the housework done top to bottom and washing included!  Had an  e-mail from a friend asking for an A4 baby card with Bambino, had a job interview and I got the job, finish the card, family taken for dinner, home and at nearly 10pm I still have both girls awake... Nancy is teething and Amelia just being... well Amelia!

I was so excited when I read the e-mail this morning... my friend and I discussed what she wanted a few weeks ago and we (well I) was on hold until the baby arrived... and yes she had a boy!!!

How I LOVE the detail in this stamp, no matter how big or small you print it, he/she still looks perfect.  So peaceful and adorable....

My friend had said that as a number of people needed to sign this card that she would like it A4, now I have in the past done quite simple A4 cards, so this one was a bit harder as I didn't know how big to print the image.
I printed Bambino at about 6 1/2'' long!

I used some gingham Digital paper I have in an odds and bits file on my computer, reduced the opacity to 70% and added a verse on the inside. Each piece of paper had a length of lace running along the bottom of the page just to soften the edges!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

A Gem Of A Challenge - Pastel Colours
Catch The Bug - Anything goes
Bunny Zoes Crafts - Celebrations (New Baby)
Creative Monday - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Thanks fro stopping by and hope to see you again soon!

Hugs

Welcome Baby...

Evening, well I have had a very productive day! I have managed to create three cards in one day....

WOW I hear you say, yes it appears that my Mojo has returned, for how long I don't know!? but hopefully she is here for a while, although next week she will be on holiday! Im going away with the family for a few days, I cant wait!

Well onto show you the 2nd creation from today! This time I have used the lovely digi from Sugar nellies - Bambino, ohh this one will always be one of my favourite!

Looking at him now im still not sure on him! I think its too white! he is mounted on blue and there is blue ink around the edge but its lacking! maybe I will try and add flowers next time!

heres a close up of what he looks like, this is such a fab digi to colour as the shading is already there for you! You can colour it in one colour if you want! Thanks why i love it and for new baby cards and christenings its fab!

I used two colours on the skin tone this time! I used Blush and Dusky Pink, but you cant really see it! I used pastel Blue and Denim Blue on his hat and pastel beige on the blanket and the bobbles on his hat!

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

Sugar bowl - Sketch and blue (optional)
Art Impression Challenge - Anything Goes
Craft Us Crazy - Anything goes
Cooking it up with katie - Die Cut Banner and Ribbon

Congratulations on the birth....

Evening all, well today has been productive, I have finished a number of invitations for an order and I have played in between, as well as running around after the kids!

My sister called this afternoon and asked if I could make a card for her.  Someone that she went so school with has had a baby! I was actually very pleased that she asked me, she will normally ask my mum to make the cards for her.  She new exactly what she wanted so it has been very easy.

This is the second card I have created with this image he is Bambino from Sugar nellie, available over at Funky Kits, isn't he just so adorable! I cant help but want to cuddle him! I coloured his hat and under him using Powder Blue, Cornflower and Arctic Blue, I coloured his skin using  Oatmeal, Sun-kissed Pink, Dusky Pink, Putty and Blush, his skin look so amazing to me, I love how I have learnt with the skin tones!

The flowers are ones I purchased from e-bay, I brought a job lot so I had a 'stock', although it seems that i'm already running out of certain colours! Oh well another flower spree will be needed! The blue/grey shimmer card that the image is mounted on is from the Papermill.

The lace and buttons are from my stash, a lot of them thanks to my mum! well I hope the lucky person to receive the card will be happy! I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

The Pink Elephant - Buttons, Lace and Ribbon

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, see you soon

If you have time I would love to hear what you think!
