The Butterfly in me

Good Morning! 

As promised today I'm back to show you some of what I have been doing with my time away from here!  I have learnt so many new techniques and I can't wait to share some of the with you.  

Today I have chosen to share with you my crochet - A skill I learnt late last August thanks to my mum - its something that I love sitting down at the end of a busy day and spending an hour making something!! I even take it on the school run at times! 

Its not been easy and there have been many disasters along the way - many times I have frogged it back, or once launched it across the room!! But I am slowly learning new techniques and ways to create what I have in my head.

Im still on the very basic stuff - but love that I can make something special in just a few days and those that I have given my creations too have always been pleased :) 

This one is has to be my favourite so far, the photo doesn't do this yarn justice - its skylecraft DK in sherbet - in real life it looks more blue than the picture!   Its from this pattern available from here

The finished blanket is approx 23 inches square and felt so soft and warm, I gifted it to a friend who has recently had a baby boy - the first thing she did was wrap him in in!!  

I do have it available from the website too!! ohhh yes I haven't told you!  Im moving away from all the platforms as they cost a small fortune, so we now have a  website that sells everything from our book folding patterns to finished books, as well as the paper cuts, templates and knitted and crochet items!  Would love it if you would check it out here!! 

This is the same pattern as the blanket above, but with some beautiful King Cole Comfort in Rhubarb  at first I wasn't too sure on it, but once it was finished I was head over heals for it! This one came up at about 22''x24''

Welcome Felicity

Afternoon, its getting so cold here I can hardly feel my fingers and that is with the heating on!!! Brrrrr…. can't wait for the summer to come back!!! Anyway I'm here to share with you today a card I made for my sister to give to fiancés brother and wife when their beautiful little bundle arrived a few weeks ago.  I have seen pictures of her and she is so so so tiny… makes me broody!! 

Anyway back to the card, now this gave me a reason to pull out one of the all time favourite images - Bambino available here.  This is one of my all time favourite images to colour up, you can add as much or as little as you like to the image and it always looks so adorable!

Now it did take me slightly out of my comfort zone, I have been sticking to 6x6 cards recently, but this one is a 6x8 , thankfully the papers I used were 12x12!! All the papers were from my local craft shop - I layered each paper onto pink card stock just to add some depth to the card.  

The image was colours with copics;

E50, E51, E53, E21, E11

R20, R22, R24

The brads I used have been sat in my stash since the first craft show I went to…. and that was over 6 years ago - I suppose I have never found the right creation for them!!  Then there is the ric-rac… again that has been in the stash for some time!! The flowers were all from my stash, I believe most of them are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  All the text was cut on my cameo - she is one amazing too you know!! 

I am so please with the way she turned out and I know she was loved by the recipients!  I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;

Why...

Can I not just do one thing at a time? Ok so its the butterfly within me that makes me have a million things on the go at once, but how can I stop starting?  No matter how much I try.... I keep starting new things!

I decided the other day that I was going to change the headder of my blog...

'creations by a butterfly' although i'm still 'flutterby trina' and I always will be!

what do you all think of the new title?

I have been so far behind on things, that trying to catch up is impossible! So many half started jobs! Oh well, thats life and I need to deal with it! OK so I have been busy today, mostly paying nurse, to my sick husband.  He has (man) flu, he slept till 12:30, got up, ate and has promptly gone back to bed.  

As he has (man) flu, I thought it would be very unfair of me to be clattering about and making noise while he slept... and so I made the difficult decision and I crafted! 

Ok so yes its made me more behind, but I don't care! 

Now is it just me or is this little one just SO adorable! This is Baby Cakes, A Ragamuffin, she is just so cute, the dummy in her mouth and the little pony tail just made me fall in love, She reminds me of my Nancy actually, she always has her dummy (or bo-bo) as she calls it, and she will often have a bottle in her hand too! For this card I took my inspiration from the fab sketch over at Saturated Canary Challenge Blog, I was so excited when I found out about the blog (although it has taken me sooo long to make a card for it!)!

Now here is what i have created! 

I apologise for the poor colour, its very windy and dull here today! I took the photos in the kitchen as I thought the best light was in there but obviously not!  I wish it would warm up a bit, if it carries on being this windy the For Sale signs on my lawn will no longer be standing!!! 

Well there you have her! I dont think she is my best attempt at a card recently but im pretty impressed with her! Oh an you will be so proud of me... Guess what I have remembered to do???.... yes I took note of what colours I used! I used my copic pens to colour;

Bambino's Due Date has arrived....

Afternoon everyone, its a horrid grey cold day here in the UK, plus I seem to have a nasty cold, cant put my finger on what part of me feels the worse! I'm stuffy, throat hurts, body aches and just feel yuck!  

But i'm here on a good note, I have managed to find the energy to sit and make, with a little help from Amelia! and its also the release of the lovely new digis from Sugar Nellies over at Funky Kits.  I saw this little one a couple of weeks ago and fell head over heals, I had set today as my 'due date', so you can imagine how excited I was this morning! I could wait to download this little one! 

The flowers are from 'The Works' and I have coloured them by bleeding colour into them using my Rose Pink pro-marker, the small buds behind the roses are also from the works.  The lace is from my mums stash and the buttons are from my stash! I have used silicone to attach the buttons and flowers.

 have coloured her using my pro-markers, so easy to make the skin tones whit them! I used Sunkissed pink, pastel pink, dusky pink, blush and oatmeal for the skin, I also used pastel pink and dusky pink on the hat and under her body!

Everything has been mounted onto pink bazzill card stock and then mounted onto a white card (i'm not sure what size you would call it as its A4 folded side to side, so its long and thin!)
