Happy Birthday Cousin...

WHOOO.... having a good day! Been busy this morning, but not doing what I should be doing!

I stand in my kitchen and craft some days, the surface is stronger than the table when I want to lean on bits and the light is so much better, so thats where I have been this morning.  Amelia keeps coming in the kitchen asking what 'recipe' i'm cooking! its making me giggle.

Well today its Mark's (my husband) cousins birthday, I have made so many different cards for her but none of them have 'done it' for me, but this one just made me think of her, i'm not even sure why!

The image is one I purchased from Poppy's Cabin a while ago as well as the Doily, she sells these on e-bay at a very good price! I think it was £1 for 20, but don't hold me to that one! The card base if from a pack I purchased yesterday, Kraft card and envelopes 50 for £6, I have wanted some craft card for ages, and never see any, so I grabbed it while I was there!   The blue card and ribbon is from my stash.

OK now one thing I did want to find out is... I have seen many people cut out images using nesties, but able to keep certain 'parts' of the image in the die as such (OK if you don't understand let me know and I will try again!!)  I know Linda over at Lindys Maid Wid Luv,  has done one recently, she did explain but i'm better with pictures! but if anyone has a tutorial on it, please let me know I would love to know how to do it!

I did manage with this one, with a nestie, pencil and scissors, just cut it by hand,  and that didn't turn out too bad!  SHe has been coloured with my faithful Pro-Markers, and this time I even remembered to take a picture of the pens to make my life easier!

Mmmm onto the rest of my creation.  You can see the doily a bit more here, I did cover most of it up, but its still there. I wanted to show you a close up of the flowers, they have been sat in a box in the cupboard for years, I forgot I had them, you see I buy things, put them away and then find them years later, but now they will be used, I stuck the lilies through the holes in the doily and the other flowers have been stuck with silicone but.... do you see anything else...???

If you spotted the Pearly Pin, your right! I have to say a bit thank you to Linda at Lindy's Made Wiv Luv, as a few weeks ago she ran a small draw for some of the beautiful Pearly Pins that she has made, I had seen these about on other peoples creations and tried to find them without success,  until Linda ran her draw, and so I managed to get my hands on these beauties! She has sent me 6 and they are all so stunning! So THANK YOU!!

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

There She Goes - Use Kraft Cardstock

I hope you like her, Thanks for looking

To The Happy Couple

Ok so here is an image I coloured forever and a day ago! I love colouring so much, but today we are having a making session! its brilliant, instead of the table being covered in pens and scraps for colouring on, it covered in gems and pearls and card of so many different colours!!!

Its a bit like a dream come true for me! I can colour so easily when I have the kids as I can stop and start, but to make a full card when they are about.... NO WAY!!!! hence why I have a box of coloured images, I hope that tonight Mark may want to play the guitar and I can get some more made, seem to be on a roll of getting things done!  All week the table has been covered in everything, to the point that the kids cant even eat dinner there, so trays have been on laps! I haven't had time to tidy up with having Amelia home all week and the weather has been horrid!

 Ohhh i'm so happy today! Were off out shortly to see a friend and her baby! I know i'm going to be so broody later! Although we need a bigger house and I would like Nancy to be sleeping through the night, she used to be a dream baby, but now she is a nightmare! She wont sleep at night, I have tried cutting naps in the day but she gets worse! Oh well, things can only get better!

Onto my card, I have used the lovely image 'loving bridal couple'. I felt it could be for a weeding, but it would be a very low key wedding so I wanted to try and 'fuss' it up a bit, it could also be for an engagement, or just a loved up couple!

The image was coloured with my pro-markers, I will have to edit this post later to put the colours down, I rounded the corners off of the image and used a sponge to put the silver on.  The roses were all white to start with, i used my pro-markers to bleed into the flowers to colour them.  The pearl flourish was done using my bazzill template and 3mm pearls.  The lace is stuck down the side with double sided tape.

Here you can see the flowers a bit closer, I have also added some pink, just to jazz it up a bit! I stuck all the flowers down using silicone as I can 'jab' the stems in before it sets!

Well I hope you like it, I know this is one that I have enjoyed making!

I would like to enter this to the following challenges;

A wedding card

Evening again, well I played with images a bit last night, I had placed an order over at poppy's cabin, such wonderful images and such a reasonable cost! You should pop over if you have a moment.  This was my 2nd order from her and I will be back shopping with her again soon!!!

Well I managed to sit and colour last night, I seem to have a huge pile of coloured images at the moment, I need to start 'making' them into cards ect, but I'm having so much fun colouring and experimenting, that colouring is so much fun!!! But I did start on the making mission last night!!

Well I decided to use this lovely image of a Bride and Bridesmaid, I decided to used purples as I'm loving purple at the moment! This is the 1st card I have made using a doily too, ohhhh they are so much fun, need to get my hands on some more!

The image was coloured with my pro-markers, i used sunkissed pink and blush on the bride and pastel pink and blush on the bridesmaid.  The Brides dress was coloured using Ice Grey 1 and satin, The bridesmaid dress and the flowers were coloured using various purples.  I used crystal stickels on the brides veil.  The flourish has been done using pearls from my stash and my bazzill template!

The flowers I have used we ones I picked up the other day at 'The Works', The roses were one set and the purple flowers are from the same place but I cut them all down so I could put them where I wanted them... I have got to go bak to the works and get some more! I decided this time to stick all the embellishments using silicone, it was grate to be able to have something to 'stick the stick' into!

I hope you like the card I have created! Im very happy with it! I would like to enter this card to the following challenges;

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Pastel Colours
Just Magnolia - Love You

Pear Tree Designs Challenge #36 Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!

So have we all been spoilt this morning??

Well if not were going to spoil you rotten over at Pear Tree Designs with the most appropriate challenge here today! This week we would like to see all your valentines day cards! well what else would we be asking for today and the rest of the week???  We will be sponsored by

Well this is the card that I have made for the challenge, I will show you what I made for my husband later! Its my first attempt at the other things, so on with my card for this week.

Ages and ages ago I received some stamped magnolia images (I actually forgot i had them!) and so I have decided to use one of them on my card for today, I feel its very appropriate!

The card stock started life as plain white, as some of you will know last week I received my order from stampin' up,  I purchased the swirly sentiments set, so versatile, I cant wait to use it a bit more!

  The ribbon is from my stash I think I brought it up at the craft shop that closed down recently (i brought it about a yr 18 mts ago!).  I decided to play cleaver and instead of wrapping it round I cut a slit in the card for it to go through.  As the sentiment is 'wrapped up with love' I felt making the card front look like a parcel was a good way forward, and so i tied the excess ribbon round and twisted it this way and that!

I started stamping the white card stock with the sentiment that says 'sending you a little something wrapped in a whole lot of love', (I felt it was a good one to use!) in sepia ink and then used the good old SU dabbers to distress the background, I did end up doing the back of the card too!

Once I had coloured my little man, I decided to distress the edges of him too, just so he blended a bit more, but when i put him up to the card he just looked silly, so I ended up mounting him on some miri card, just to break it up a bit.

For his skin tone, I used Sun-kissed pink and Blush, for his hair I used Cocoa, Shale and Caramel, His jumper I coloured with China Blue and Royal Blue, his trousers with Pine and Leaf Green and lastly his socks were coloured with Poppy and Cardinal red.

I then decided to stamp the sentiment in silver onto a piece of white card, distressed the edges, I then mounted this on with sticky pads! I just thought it made it a bit more obvious what the sentiment was!

Ok so this last picture is just to make you laugh, it was very late in the evening when i took these photos, sometimes while I craft the cat sits with me, but not tonight,,,, she decided that she was going to display it for me!

And she Danced...

Evening everyone, well had a funny day today, hubby been at home most of the day, Amelia went to school and Nancy to my Mother-in-Laws, so I have get on with housework. After picking them up, we have had tea and I have managed to get a bit of crafting in!

Today I have used a stamp, no not a digi one! Its been so long since I have stamped something and coloured it, so I felt it was about time! Today I have used Fairy Tail - Ballerina Tilda from Magnolia! My sister is coming towards the end of her dance course, so I have made this card in advance for her!

Until today I had never coloured a Magnolia image, I have always looked at how everyone else does them and wish that I could just try and today was that day!

The backing paper is a bit of tissue paper that I have scrunched up and the gone over with my cats eye ink pad (warm violet).  I believe this is called the faux silk effect, I did go over the top with some versamark dazzle, just to add some sparkle!

The Image has been coloured using pro-markers;

Orchid, Amethyst and Lilac for her dress and  ballet shoes,
Gold for her crown,
Shale, CoCo and Tan for her hair,
Peach, Honeycomb, Pastel Pink and Blush for her skin Tone.
The sparkles around her I went over with vanilla.

I have stuck a 2mm purple rhinestone in the middle of the sparkle areas to add some effect!

I cut the border and backing from my nestabilities and the stuck some 4mm rhinestones at the various points. I did make a boobo, I don't have magnetic mats to make sure I line up the border correct so it is a bit wonky, I think my next purchase will have to be a magnetic mat for my nesties!

The sentiment has been written onto tissue paper with a gold pen and then mounted onto white card so it stands out a bit more.  I did have to cheat and print the sentiment from my computer and then trace through the tissue paper to make sure my writing looked OK, I can do neat writing but swirly and neat - not me!

One thing I have learnt is that this sentiment was printed at text size 18, the words danced and nobody is at text size 24, if I do this again I will print the smaller at 24 if not bigger.

I used some of my stash of ribbons and things, the purple elastic around the card is something I picked up in hobbycraft years ago! As its like elastic I tied it on the inside of the card, when I put a verse in it I will cover it up.  I still have 3 rolls of the elastic stuff, have never used it until today!

The dancer charm is from a set of music charms I purchased in 'The Works', here in the UK its more of a book shop that sells discount books, but they have a few small stands of craft stuff sometimes, you can pick up some good bargains on papers in there sometimes.  When I purchased this pack they were on 3 for 2 at 99p each! I have hooked her on with a swirly 'thing' from my stash! I believe these are meant for photos or something, but I found a good use to it today!

Well I have had a lovely hour of crafting.  I am now getting ready for a friend to come over for a drink or two or maybe three! So no more crafting for me until tomorrow night!

If you have time I would love to know what you think!
